Our lady of Providance Hospital-Basna
Our lady of providence hospital is situated in Basna which is 137 Km. away from the capital city ‘Raipur’ on Bombay – Calcutta National high way.The hospital had its humble beginning in the year 1950 by a Mennonite Christian Lady Doctor, Madam Sanover which was later on handed over to the sisters of SMMI (Salesian Missionaries of Mary Immaculate) in the year 1964.
About Us
In the year 1964 hospital was made of mud with asbestos roof, having 15 bedded small single rooms without proper ventilators.Due to the financial problem of the people, the patients were somehow adjusting to the poor condition of the hospital. As the years went on the number of patients began to increase in our hospital, therefore it was an urgent need to build a few more rooms and wards with more facilities in it.It became possible only with the help of a few generous people and so presently we have 30 beds and the facilities for outpatient department, pharmacy, laboratory for routine tests, ultra Sonography, and operation theatre which is not on function due to the absence of anaesthetist. Patients come from near and far villages especially from fulger area and Odisha boarder.The poor patients are given more attention and concession is given to those who deserve.

Quality care of patient is maintained under the directions of our consultant Gynecologist Dr. Mini Varghese BSc, MBBS, DGO.We have the regular visit of pediatrician from Balgopal hospital, Raipur.
The hospital mainly focus on Mother and child health care through antenatal and postnatal check up, safe delivery, health education on hygiene, natural family planning, sex education, prevention of communicable diseases etc.In our health care facility, we provide a holistic healing through our very way of dealing and bring about an integrated community health.
